1. San Antonio Spurs

When you think of stable organizations that would be in position to take a gamble on a troubled player, the San Antonio Spurs are likely near the top of the list.

Part of why the Spurs fell flat in the playoffs was their inability to collapse the defense to set up their perimeter ball movement and outside shooting. Tony Parker doesn’t have the same ability physically to get into the lane and force the defense to shift.

The Spurs have taken chances on players with a checkered past before, such as Stephen Jackson and assuming the price tag is low, may consider taking a flyer on Stephenson.

With Tim Duncan‘s retirement a looming possibility and Manu Ginobili testing free agency, they need to focus on developing their future and that could mean testing the waters on Stephenson.
