The Detroit Pistons made the playoffs in the last available slot before being swept by the eventual champions Cleveland. Here are 5 roster moves needed.

The Detroit Pistons are coming, the rest of the NBA need to watch out. Their core is young but they are going to grow together and be a really good team.

The Pistons made the playoffs last season, it was in the last slot but they made them. Andre Drummond had a special year, Tobias Harris came from the Orlando Magic and played even better for Detroit. Even Reggie Jackson started to figure out who he is as a player.

Drummond, the league’s leading rebounder last year is only 23 and is only going to get better.

Harris, the dynamic power forward who just came from the Orlando Magic is only 23. Again, he is only going to get better.

Marcus Morris, is an honest toiler and is only 26, on a very team friendly $5 million contract for the next three years.

Kentavious Caldwell-Pope is an excellent scorer and a tenacious defender at shooting guard is also only 23. Again, he is only going to get better.

Jackson, who came to Detroit via a trade with the Oklahoma City Thunder, is turning out to be something special and when he becomes consistent, he will be an absolute force, only 26.

Not a bad position for a starting five to be in, no one older than 26 and all established players in the league.

On the bench is “old man” Aron Baynes, who is 29; last year’s lottery pick Stanley Johnson, who is only 19; new recruit Cameron Bairstow, who is only 25′ and last year’s other draft pick, Darrun Hilliard, who is only 23.

If Detroit can keep this team together, I think that they will possibly get back to the glory days of Ben Wallace and maybe even the success of the Bad Boy era with Bill Laimbeer, Isiah Thomas, Joe Dumars and Dennis Rodman.
