5. Develop Bench Depth

Last season the Clippers tried to improve their bench by getting Paul Pierce, Lance Stephenson and Josh Smith.

That did not go well for the Clippers, Smith was the first one to go, he was sent back to the Houston Rockets to implode there. Stephenson was traded to the Memphis Grizzlies for Jeff Green. Pierce is still with the team, but he is talking about retirement.

It was a failure of an offseason. The Clippers only have Jeff Green left from this series of roster moves.

This season the Clippers need to add a veteran, but maybe not one as old a Pierce or as questionable as Stephenson.

Austin Rivers, apart from being the son of the coach, has intermittent talent. Maybe adding D.J. Augustin to back up Chris Paul would be a good option.

Barring massive injury issues the Los Angeles Clippers will be back in the Playoffs next season. Another year of this team playing together and they might even hold a top-two seed if Chris Paul’s hand heals in time and Blake Griffin can play a full season.
