1. Re-Sign Jeff Green

Behind Blake Griffin, Jeff Green is the most important forward in the Clippers rotation. Griffin is the starting power forward, no one can dispute that. Luc Mbah a Moute is the starting lock-down perimeter defender.

Green is the backup for both of these guys. He has the speed and ability to play both forward positions and is usually instant offense when he comes off the bench.

The rap on Green is that he can struggle against the stronger teams and beats up on weaker competition.

I think that this is a little unfair. Of the 11 games where he scored 20 points or more, he scored 26 against Miami, 23 and 20 against Oklahoma City and 20 against Houston–all playoff teams from this year.

Green has a career average of 14.0 points per game. This gives the Clippers the depth that is required for a Championship run. They would have six players averaging more than 10 points per contest including Griffin, Redick, Paul, Jordan, Jamal Crawford and Green.

As Green is such a good combination forward, if Paul Pierce does decide to retire, the Clippers can take a gamble on another veteran, one they don’t have to rely on night in and night out which may make the difference next June.
