5. Sign Randy Foye

With the Oklahoma City Thunder making the biggest trade of draft day, they signed a piece of their puzzle which spells the end of Randy Foye’s time in Oklahoma City.

I am fairly certain that Billy Donovan is going to play Victor Oladipo over Randy Foye. I am also sure that with the way the Foye played for Oklahoma City, he will not be offered a new contract.

Why do I think that it is a good idea for Indiana to sign him? Well despite the way that he played for Oklahoma City and the Denver Nuggets, he is still a career 37 percent shooter from outside three.

Foye has been a bit of a victim of the last two systems that he has played in. He had very little space in Denver to work with, explaining his 30 percent three-point shooting.

In Oklahoma City, he was playing next to Kevin Durant and a myriad of good three-point shooters, meaning that oppositions were closing out the three as quickly as they could, explaining his 31 percent three-point shooting.

In Indiana, there will be way too much cutting and driving for oppositions to close the three as quickly. This should see a rise in his three-point percentage as he will have more open looks.

There are a couple of other reasons that I would like to see Foye playing for Indiana. Rodney Stuckey had injury issues last year which limited his game time. Foye would be able to help if Stuckey is still struggling, due to his proficiency at both guard positions.

The other reason I would like to see Foye playing for Indiana is not on the court. He is a fantastic locker room presence and Indiana are getting a heap of new players next season. The better the locker room is, the better the team will play on the court.
