5. Sign Brandon Jennings

The one thing that the Los Angeles Lakers need is quality experience. The only two point guards that are on the roster are D’Angelo Russell and Marcelo Huertas.

Russell should be the starting point guard for this team. It means that he will grow with the rest of the team. However, something that is vital for any team is experience.

Talent is certainly required but you show me an NBA team that does not have talent and I will be amazed. The Philadelphia 76ers are a hugely talented team that barely won anything until they got the experience of Ish Smith on board.

Brandon Jennings finished the season with the Orlando Magic and was an explosive scorer before he hurt his Achilles. He is no longer that player. It hurts to write that because Jennings was a budding star.

Jennings is an experienced hand, a player who will slow up the pace of the young players on the team. If Shawn Kemp taught me anything, it is that slowing down can sometimes be a better thing.

Jennings would be a good fit. He would play more than he has in Orlando and be a great mentor for Russell.

One thing is for certain, next year the Los Angeles Lakers will be better than last year, they could not get much worse. I am looking for them to get back to the playoffs, making these roster moves will help.
