The first international prospect to come off the board has every tool necessary to be a Top 3 selection in the 2017 NBA Draft. A French phenom with an elite physical profile, Frank Ntilikina is the personification of the word, “Intriguing.”
There’s a lot you can teach a player, but you can’t teach size—and cliché or not, that’s the truth.
Ntilikina stands at 6’5″ with a 6’11” wingspan, which is downright ridiculous for a point guard. He’s also a quality athlete who moves well in the open court, can play above the rim, and excels at creating penetration.
A pure point guard, Ntilikina has the court vision, selflessness, and understanding of systematic basketball that NBA coaches long for.
On the opposite end of the floor, Ntilikina’s size, length, and athleticism create elite defensive potential. He could potentially pick up players at multiple positions, which is a strength that any competent coach can put to use.
Ntilikina’s jump shot is still a work in progress, but he’s one of the most tantalizing prospects in this draft class.
