Isaiah Hartenstein has outstanding size for a power forward at an athletic 6’11”, and that’s one of the lesser reasons to be intrigued. He’s an incredibly skilled player who, at 18 years of age, is gaining professional experience overseas.

There are reasons to be concerned, but in terms of his upside, Hartenstein offers many reasons to believe the hype.

Hartenstein is an outstanding defensive rebounder who aggressively makes plays as a shot-blocker and perimeter defender. He moves fluidly enough to switch on the pick-and-roll, though that may come into question against NBA-caliber athletes.

It’s on offense, however, that Hartenstein has created the buzz of a potential lottery pick.

Hartenstein has a gorgeous shooting stroke from beyond the arc. Along with being able to hit the 3-ball, he’s an excellent passer who gets deep position on the low block and is capable of finishing plays off in traffic.

There are a number of quality international players who are eligible for the 2017 NBA Draft, and Hartenstein is near the top of the list.
