Shake Milton of the SMU Mustangs is a 6’5″ point guard with a near 7’0″ wingspan and an outstanding jump shot. Having already acknowledged how intriguing a point guard with size can be, one can’t help but be in awe of Milton’s upside considering he can actually shoot.

The fact that Milton is preparing for the NBA by playing for legendary head coach Larry Brown is just the icing on the cake.

There are questions about whether or not Milton is actually a point guard. That’s entirely fair, but it really doesn’t matter as much as it normally would; Milton has prototypical size and length for a shooting guard with a consistent 3-point shot.

If Milton can’t play point guard in the NBA, then he has the physical gifts and skill set to play the 2.

Milton will have the spotlight shining on him in 2016-17 as he looks to help SMU build upon its 25-win season from 2015-16. He’ll also be on the draft radar, with his every game being picked apart.

If Milton can establish himself as a more capable facilitator, he could go as far as becoming a lottery pick in 2017.
