The second international prospect to appear in this 2017 NBA Mock Draft is Le Mans standout Jonathan Jeanne. Jeanne could’ve been a Top 25 pick in 2016, but opted to pull out of the annual selection process.
Though his draft stock is based primarily on raw potential, it’s very easy to fall in love with what Jeanne brings to the table.
Beginning with the physical profile, Jeanne stands at 7’2″ with an overwhelming wingspan that nearly reaches 7’7″. He’s very thin for his size, however, and the need to add significant mass is undeniable.
If Jeanne gets to an acceptable playing weight, then he could become one of the most dominant shot-blockers in the NBA.
Beyond his size and length, Jeanne is a fluid athlete with a lethal jump shot that includes 3-point range. He’s also very skilled down low, displaying mature footwork and an understanding of how to defeat an opponent with finesse.
Jeanne needs to add a significant amount of muscle to his frame, but he has Rudy Gobert’s size and length with superior offensive potential.
