5. Did The Push For 73 Wins Come Back To Haunt Warriors?

Going into the last week of the season, the Dubs were 69-9 and needed to win their last four games in order to supplant the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls as the team with the most regular-season wins.

As we all know, the Warriors did in fact win those last four games and etched their names in the record books in the process.

The question here is: should the Warriors have rested their players prior to the start of the postseason instead of pursuing a record that would have little significance if they weren’t able to successfully defend their title?

Hindsight is always 20/20 as the saying goes, but based on how fatigued this group looked over the last three games of the Finals, shooting less than 40 percent from the field in two of those outings, one could make the argument that the Warriors desire to be part of (regular-season) history may have come back to haunt them in the end

Just a little food for thought.
