4. Sign Joakim Noah

Every team needs to have experience in its frontcourt. As discussed in the previous slide, Minnesota has Kevin Garnett, but his body is starting to show the effects of the 20 years of NBA basketball.

Minnesota has been driven to youth by the draft and they is going to be exciting for years to come because of that fact. Also because of it, they have plenty of cap space and a glaring need for a high quality power forward so that when Garnett does leave the team, all will be well.

Enter Joakim Noah. His 29 games last year were not a great sample size for the one-time Defensive Player of the Year. However, what happened to the Chicago Bulls in the time that he was not playing was telling.

Without Noah on the floor, Chicago went from being a contender to missing the playoffs. His rebounding and defensive intensity has a lot to do with that.

With Noah in the starting lineup, opposition power forwards will be in a battle. Then, as the quarter gets older, Garnett can check in, continuing the defensive presence.

The signing of Noah would also mean that there would always been an experienced player with Karl-Anthony Towns, helping him develop.

If Minnesota were able to sign Noah, I would love to see the scrimmages between Garnett and Noah. I think that they would all end in a 0-0 draw.

They have had their issues in the past, but would certainly get over that for the good of the franchise.
