Bobby Portis

Taken No. 22 overall by the Chicago Bulls

2015-16 NBA Stats: 17.8 MPG, 7.0 PPG, 0.8 APG, 5.4 RPG, 0.4 SPG, 0.4 BPG

Portis went into the 2015 NBA Draft as a wild card, with some predicting he could be a potential lottery pick. Portis himself predicted that years from now he would be looked at as the best player in the draft.

When Chicago finally snapped him up with the 22nd pick, many felt it was the steal of the draft.

Unfortunately for Portis he was drafted into a situation where he would have to play behind the likes of Pau Gasol, Joakim Noah, Nikola Mirotic and even Taj Gibson, leaving little opportunity early on.

It was not long before fans became enamored with his hustle when in a two-week span at the end of 2015, Portis dropped lines of 20 points and 11 rebounds, 12 and nine, 16 and seven and 16 and 10.

#FreeBobbyPortis would become a thing on Twitter and Bulls fans had reason to be very hopeful for the future.

Portis would go on to have 14 games where he scored double-digit points and nine double-digit rebound efforts on the season. With Noah and Gasol both hitting the open market this summer we just may see Portis unleashed next season.
