6. Back-to-Back

In order to win 50 games, a team must play with a strong measure of consistency. In order to win 60 games, the occasional losing streak must become a true rarity for a team in pursuit of elite status.

The Golden State Warriors eclipsed 70 wins, and it did so with the most remarkable form of consistency imaginable.

The Warriors went the entire regular season without losing back-to-back games. That’s 82 games, during which every team in the NBA was giving the defending champions their absolute best—and the Warriors never faltered.

Even when a loss was suffered, the Warriors bounced right back with a win the next time out.

It wasn’t until the Western Conference Finals that the Warriors lost two consecutive outings. All the Warriors did in that situation was improbably overcome a 3-1 series deficit to defeat the Oklahoma City Thunder 4-3 and reach the 2016 NBA Finals.

It was a year to remember for a Warriors squad that was as consistent as any team has ever been.
