Greatest of All-Time

The Golden State Warriors have a genuine opportunity to become the greatest team in NBA history. One could argue which team was the best, most talented, or most likely to win a seven-game series, but greatest? That’s a matter of accolades.

In just one game, the Warriors could legitimize what’s been the single most accomplished season in NBA history.

The Warriors finished the 2015-16 regular season at 73-9. In turn, Golden State broke and set the all-time record for total wins in a regular season, as well as road wins in a regular season, at 34-7.

In the immortal words of the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls, however, the wins don’t mean a thing without a ring.

The Bulls won 72 games in 1995-96, and went on to secure the first of what would be three consecutive NBA championships. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr played on that team, along with Michael Jordan, Dennis Rodman, and Scottie Pippen.

If Golden State wins the ring, then it becomes the greatest team in NBA history. If it doesn’t, then it’ll be forever remembered as the greatest regular season team in NBA history.

The pressure is higher than it’s ever been.
