14. Chicago Bulls – Timothe Luwawu (France)

The Chicago Bulls are involved in draft rumors with the Wolves for the No. 5 pick, but that doesn’t change their 14th selection. Timothe Luwawu has professional playing experience in Europe, which should help him translate to the NBA.

Luwawu,18, has fluid shooting mechanics and can be an solid scoring option. He has the ability to operate as a spot-up shooter or with the ball in his hands. His shooting ability already features NBA range, so that shouldn’t take long to adjust to. He also has shown the ability to drive and finish at the rim.

Luwawu’s defense may be his best attribute, according to Draft Express‘ Jonathan Givony, who scouted him while he was playing in France. He played a full-court style of defense that allowed him to use his length and quickness to pressure the defense. Givony said that Luwawu has “quick feet, long arms and the ability to get over screens.”

Luwawu has an NBA body. He is 6-foot-7 and will be able to defend multiple positions. He will need to add strength, since he weighs in at 205 pounds. But he will be able to use his length and quickness on both ends of the court to find success.

Chicago is in need of a talented prospect to build around Jimmy Butler. Luwawu is a great prospect to do just that with his outside shooting touch, ability to create shots and his ability to defend multiple positions. As he adjusts to the NBA, he will only get better and improve his all-around game.
