French power forward Petr Cornelie is a physically overwhelming prospect. He stands at just under 7’1″ with what’s essentially a matching wingspan, and moves well enough to play the 4 on a full-time basis.

The key strength in Cornelie’s game, however, is his smooth shooting stroke from 3-point range.

It’s hard enough to find a 7’1″ power forward, let alone one with the athleticism to keep up with the modern 4. The fact that Cornelie has a skill that he can consistently rely upon—his jump shot—makes him truly dynamic.

Cornelie tends to rush into his shot when shooting off the bounce, but he’s close to lights-out in catch-and-shoot situations.

Defensively, Cornelie hasn’t shown nearly enough as a shot-blocker to warrant excitement. The potential certainly exists for him to develop into a force on that end, however, with the size, length, and leaping ability to alter any shot that comes his way.

Cornelie could be one of the second-round steals of this draft class.
