Weber State Wildcats star Joel Bolomboy is one of the most athletic players in the 2016 NBA Draft. That isn’t specific to the power forward position; it’s an all-encompassing statement.

Coupled with his elite athleticism is the intriguing fact that Bolomboy is an outstanding defensive rebounder who can consistently knock down the 3-point shot.

Bolomboy made 15 3-point field goals in 30 games on 36.6 percent shooting in 2014-15, and hit 20 in 33 games on 36.4 percent shooting in 2015-16. Those aren’t elite marks, but he’d attempted just one 3-point field goal through his first two seasons at Weber State.

Bolomboy’s dramatic improvement as a shooter is a promising sign for his NBA future.

Athletically, Bolomboy aced the 2016 NBA Draft Combine. He ripped off a 40.5-inch max vertical leap and ranked No. 1 in the lane agility drill, No. 5 in the three-quarter sprint, and No. 6 in the shuttle run.

In other words, Bolomboy has elite lateral quickness, end-to-end speed and agility. His upside is real.
