Guerschon Yabusele is rapidly rising up draft boards—so much so that he’s closing in on a Round 1 grade. He may end up being a second-round selection, but the more I watch Yabusele, the more I become intrigued.
He’s not a perfect prospect, but Yabusele has the preliminary tools to develop into a genuine playmaker from the 4-spot.
Yabusele has come out of nowhere, by some accounts, but in truth, he’s been working his way up the ranks in France. He made the jump from Pro B, the second-tier league in France, to Pro A, the top-tier league, and has looked sensational in doing so.
Offensively, Yabusele has drawn comparisons to Draymond Green for his ability to handle the ball, facilitate, and shoot with 3-point range.
Yabusele is a giant individual, but his conditioning is much better than one might expect it to be. In fact, Yabusele moves better than most power forwards in the open court, and has even flashed explosive leaping ability when playing above the rim.
Standing at 6’7″ without shoes with a near 7’1″ wingspan, Yabusele is almost a mirror image to Green from a physical perspective.

If he lands with a team that will progressively develop his skills like the Golden State Warriors did with Green, Yabusele could make a comfortable living in the NBA.
