3. Chandler Parsons

This one gets a little tricky, as Chandler Parsons opted out of his contract and will be exploring free agency and would only be available to the Raptors if Dallas was willing to do a sign-and-trade.

More from Hoops Habit

The Raptors do not have the cap space necessary to sign Parsons straight up, so a sign-and-trade would be the only option.

Because an S&T is the only option, the Raptors couldn’t use the draft picks as trade bait. Rather, they would have to use both picks and then hope Dallas was interested in the rights to either or both players chosen.

Parsons is another player who could play in a positionless role similar to Gallinari. Like Gallinari, he also comes with a checkered injury history.

The Mavericks are also a team in flux, after making the playoffs this season, they are far below the level of a contender and will need to rebuild soon as Dirk Nowitzki approaches retirement.

Signing Parsons long-term doesn’t make a ton of sense given the fact that he’ll be 28 next season and wouldn’t fit into a rebuild.

A signing with Toronto isn’t incredibly likely given the number of teams that will be pursuing him in a relatively bare free agency period, but if he has interest in it this would be a worthwhile target for the Raptors and the Mavericks would avoid letting him walk for nothing.
