5. Find A 3-And-D Player

This type of player is in high demand — a floor spacer with shooting who can defend players like Kevin Durant and LeBron James.

Two players I would like to see Sacramento target are Kent Bazemore and Matt Barnes.

Bazemore has been a part of the Atlanta Hawks‘ defense since DeMarre Carroll left. He is inconsistent on the offensive end but I think would add some bite to the Sacramento defense.

Barnes is the unfashionable 3-and-D player who does what is needed. Under-appreciated at the Los Angeles Clippers he signed a one-year deal with the Memphis Grizzlies.

Barnes would bring all of his experience and guile to Sacramento, making the Kings that much harder to play against.

Barnes does not look to hog the spotlight but he’d have a chance to be that voice that finally calms Cousins down and focuses him on basketball. When that happens there is no telling just how good Boogie could be.

I usually think that for a team in the position that Sacramento finds itself in, no move could be a bad one. Unfortunately, this team seems to make a living by being dysfunctional and making trades that do not make sense.
