1. Re-sign Rajon Rondo

Rondo came to Sacramento with massive question marks against him. How was he going to go with the emotional DeMarcus Cousins? Then Sacramento semi-imploded with head coach George Karl reportedly not getting along with the emotional center.

“From there he let his basketball do the talking.”

How did Rondo respond? He led the NBA is assists with 11.7 per game, having more than one a game more than his closest competition, Russell Westbrook (10.5).

Rondo did make his stupid comments throughout the year, directing a homophobic slur at an official after being ejected. He earned himself a one-game suspension for that. From there he let his basketball do the talking.

Rondo is possibly the best pure point guard in the league at the moment. His defense is elite, his 2.0 steals were good enough for seventh in the league.  His length poses a problem for other smaller point guards in the league.

His court vision is unmatched in the NBA at the moment but his shot is still suspect, as it has been his entire career.

Rondo will get a large contract wherever he goes. If he stays with Sacramento then he will command more than $10 million a season due to the overvalue of the Kosta Koufos contract ($8 million next season).

There is not a shadow of a doubt that Rondo will be worth more than Koufos. Lets hope for the sake of Sacramento basketball that Dave Joerger has a better relationship with Cousins and Rondo and they can break the second worst current streak in the NBA for missing the playoffs.
