Milwaukee Bucks

Picks Owned: 10, 36, 38

The Milwaukee Bucks have a young core of players developing in the backcourt and on the wing. Khris Middleton and Giannis Antetokounmpo are the future of the Bucks, who should look inside to continue to build their roster.

The Bucks are in a prime position to go after a power forward or center with their 10th overall pick. Marquette’s Henry Ellenson, Utah’s Jacob Poeltl, Michigan State’s Deyonta Davis and Kentucky’s Skal Labissiere could all be on the board when the Bucks are on the clock.

It’s easy to mock Ellenson to the Bucks, since he played his home college games at the Bradley Center, the home of Marquette and the Bucks, but they need to evaluate all their options.

Drafting Poeltl would give the Bucks a legitimate center. Greg Monroe has played center for the Bucks, but may be best suited at the 4. Poeltl would give the Bucks more flexibility in their front court, allowing them to bring Jabari Parker off the bench.

Davis is more of a defensive pick, if the Bucks were to go that route. He needs to develop an offensive game to reach his full potential. With others available, Milwaukee should go in a different direction.

Labissiere provides the most versatility, with the ability to defend either frontcourt position. His offensive game will give the Bucks a better weapon in the pick-and-roll game with the ability to knock down a midrange jumper, or use his athleticism to get to the rim.

The Bucks are in a good situation being able to fill a need by drafting the frontcourt player of their liking with the 10th overall pick. In the second round, they can look to trade the picks for a veteran player or continue to build their core by adding depth with those picks.
