Henry Ellenson, PF/C — Marquette

Standing at 6’10”, Henry Ellenson is the best center prospect who could reasonably be available when the Bulls pick at No. 14.

He was dominant in his one and only season at Marquette, averaging 17.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game while shooting 45 percent from the field and 75 percent from the free throw line.

The field goal percentage isn’t what you normally see out of a typical big, but Ellenson lives in the midrange and the percentage only suffered because of occasionally poor shot selection.

Ellenson is actually able to step out and shoot the three-ball as well, making 30 three-pointers in 33 games. He only shot 29 percent from downtown but that’s something he can work on, and considering his prowess in the midrange and at the free throw line, there’s obviously room for growth.

Plus, he’s a stellar rebounder and great ball handler, so Chicago would have themselves quite a versatile player if he fell to them at 14.

If Pau Gasol returns to the Bulls then this Marquette product would likely come off the bench his rookie year while learning from one of the most well-rounded bigs in the game. And if Gasol opts out, Ellenson could find himself as the starting center for the Bulls in 2016-17 with both Gasol and Joakim Noah out of the picture.
