There’s a high probability that the Dallas Mavericks will re-sign small forward Chandler Parsons. If that does transpire, then one of Parsons’ primary offseason goals will be to recruit Dwight Howard to Dallas.

As Howard looks for an opportunity to achieve a career rejuvenation, Dallas could be the perfect destination for him.

Howard is still an outstanding rebounder, efficient scorer, and impactful defensive player. He finished the 2015-16 season at No. 2 in the NBA in field goal percentage, No. 4 in rebounding, and No. 3 in offensive rebounds per game.

The Houston Rockets effectively phased Howard out of the offense, but he’s proven to still be a highly effective player.

Howard needs to find a team that has a great coach and a respected—and personable—veteran leader. Rick Carlisle and Dirk Nowitzki check those boxes, and Wesley Matthews and Chandler Parsons are ideal floor-spacers.

Dallas could be a very ideal destination for the three-time Defensive Player of the Year.
