Golden State Warriors: 5 Keys For Game 3 vs. Cavaliers
1. Splash Brothers Stepping Up
The fact that the Golden State Warriors have a 2-0 lead despite neither Stephen Curry nor Klay Thompson scoring 20 points once in this series is a testament to their depth. Their “Strength In Numbers” slogan certainly isn’t misplaced.
But facing their toughest challenge yet in Game 3, it’ll be time for the Splash Brothers to turn the momentum they built in Game 2 into a high scoring performance to power the Warriors’ offense on the road.
In Game 2, Curry finished with only 18 points, but he also went 7-for-11 from the field, made four of his eight three-pointers and if it weren’t for foul trouble keeping him on the sidelines, he might have had a high scoring night more in line with what we’re expecting from the league MVP.
Klay Thompson only had 17 points, but he also made four of his eight three-pointers and, like Curry, probably would’ve put up a higher scoring total if the game hadn’t gotten out of hand so early in the second half.

In the playoffs, star players are relied upon to carry their teams to the promised land. We saw it in Game 6 of the Western Conference Finals with Thompson’s 41-point detonation and then again in Game 7 when Curry dropped a 36-8-5 stat line on 7-of-12 shooting from deep.
In a game against a desperate team on the road, it’ll be time for the Splash Brothers to get back to their high scoring ways.
