2016 NBA Draft: 3 Best Landing Spots for Buddy Hield
3. Minnesota Timberwolves
To say the Timberwolves have made the most out of the draft in recent years would be an understatement.
In 2014, they drafted Zach LaVine with the 13th overall pick and later traded Kevin Love for that year’s first overall pick and eventual Rookie of the Year, Andrew Wiggins.
Then last year they took another Rookie of the Year winner, Karl-Anthony Towns, who may already be a top-three big man in the NBA.

The T-Wolves could probably forfeit their fifth overall pick this year and they would still be a championship contender in just a few short seasons. But lucky for them, they’ll be keeping their pick and they’ll be able to stack their young lineup even more.
One of the best options for both player and team at No. 5 is none other than Buddy Hield.
Minnesota is set at a few positions but depending on how you look at it, shooting guard is not one of them. Yes, that’s where Zach LaVine played much of last season, but he’s better off at point guard.
Ricky Rubio has been the subject of many trade rumors over the last few seasons and if he were to be sent packing, the door would be opened for LaVine to slide over to point guard and Hield to slot in at shooting guard.
Even if Rubio weren’t traded, it’s hard to believe if Hield were available at No. 5 that the Timberwolves wouldn’t take him and at the very least cut Rubio’s minutes down.

If Hield found himself in Minnesota, he’d be in quite the cushy situation being surrounded by the last two Rookie of the Year winners along with Zach LaVine.
