All apologies to LeBron James, but the best player in 2015-16 was Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry. You can break this down in any number of ways, but no one dominated the game quite like Curry.

No one is better in the fourth quarter than Curry, either, and that’s the ultimate strength to possess.

Curry finished 2015-16 as the first player in NBA history to average at least 30.0 points and join the 50-40-90 club in the same season. He won his second consecutive MVP award and effectively earned the No. 1 spot.

Yet, the need to prove himself remains.

Curry’s numbers were pretty, but he didn’t play at an elite level during the 2015 NBA Finals. Much of his production was earned during garbage time, which was reflected in his ranking No. 3 in the Finals MVP voting.

A championship is more important to Curry and the Warriors than an individual accolade, but don’t think the value of the Finals MVP award is lost on him.
