As an objective basketball fan, there’d be nothing more exciting than seeing LeBron James do everything in his power to reclaim the No. 1 spot. Many have questioned whether or not he’s still the best player in the world, and Stephen Curry’s back-to-back MVP awards give him a fair edge.
By winning his third career championship, James could rip the, “Best in the world,” title back from Curry in emphatic fashion.
Dear LeBron James,
This is your moment.
If James dominates this series in the astonishing way he did the 2015 NBA Finals, but manages to close games out, he’ll be back at No. 1. He’s already a two-time NBA champion and Finals MVP, and adding a third championship would be an undeniable statement.
The question is, can he close out the games?
Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love are healthy, which should alleviate a significant measure of pressure from James. In that same breath, the trio of Curry, Draymond Green, and Klay Thompson should all play better than they did a year ago.
This is the ultimate test for one of the Top 10 players in NBA history.
