1. SF Kevin Durant

To dare is to dream … or something like that.

Kevin Durant will undoubtedly be the most sought after free agent on the market.

As a key cog on the Western Conference runner-up Oklahoma City Thunder, Durant has continued his rampage as one of the league’s top scorers in the 2015-16 season, averaging 28.2 points per game in his first full year since recovering from multiple foot surgeries.

More from Hoops Habit

After taking the defending champion Warriors to seven games in the Western Conference Finals, most believe that Durant may be fit to stay put in Oklahoma City, at least on a one-year deal that would take him through next season.

However, Durant will be able to essentially choose wherever he wants to go, should he decide that leaving Oklahoma City is in his best interest.

To even have a slight chance at entertaining Kevin Durant for a visit, the Celtics will need to do their best to acquire as much talent as possible between now and free agency to make the thought of playing in Boston more enticing.

Sure, the Celtics have the rich franchise behind them, but that will do little to increase their chances of acquiring one of the league’s best players in free agency.

The effect that Durant would have on the Celtics would be immeasurable, given his Hall-of-Fame ability and his offensive prowess that is second-to-none across the rest of the NBA.
