2. Boston Celtics

The Boston Celtics have built a roster with remarkable depth and a surplus of trade assets. In other words, the Celtics are perfectly equipped to both sign Kevin Durant and surround him with a postseason-caliber roster.

If Durant wants to play in a winning culture, Boston would be the ultimate situation for him to enter.

The Celtics have a deep crop of quality players, including All-Star point guard Isaiah Thomas and All-Defensive First Team guard Avery Bradley. The interior is flush with versatile players, and the perimeter is rounded out by well-rounded contributors including Jae Crowder and Marcus Smart.

Furthermore, Boston owns the No. 3, 16, 23, 31, 35, 45, 51, and 58 overall selections in the 2016 NBA Draft.

Boston has the cap space to sign Durant and make a run at another quality free agent. It also has the assets to pull of a significant trade—perhaps centered around targeted stars Jimmy Butler or Al Horford.

If nothing else, it’d be difficult to refrain from signing with an organization that has 17 championship banners and Brad Stevens for a head coach.
