Denver Nuggets: Capitalizing on Assets

Much is made of the Minnesota Timberwolves having the brightest future of every rebuilding franchise, but the Denver Nuggets aren’t far behind.

The Nuggets had two players finish on the All-Rookie teams in Nikola Jokic and Emmanuel Mudiay, and have three other quality young players in Jusuf Nurkic, Gary Harris and Will Barton.

Add in quality veterans in Danilo Gallinari, Kenneth Faried and Wilson Chandler, along with the seventh, 15th, and 19th overall selections in the NBA Draft and it’s possible that the team has too many assets for a proper rebuild into a playoff team.

The Nuggets will likely explore trades to move up in the NBA Draft, or exchange the multitude of assets they have accumulated for a star player.

Jimmy Butler and Kevin Love have been stars thrown out there by the media, but no one really knows what general manager Tim Connelly will do.

Either way, something has to give, and after finishing last in attendance this past year, according to the Denver Post, the team will look to make a move that excites the fan base as well.
