3. Atlanta Hawks

There’s a very realistic possibility that the Atlanta Hawks will be unable to re-sign Al Horford. That’s a tough pill to swallow for a Hawks team that remains stuck in basketball limbo.

Landing Jahlil Okafor could be exactly what Atlanta needs to escape its residency in the land of mediocrity.

Atlanta has two attractive trade assets in point guard Jeff Teague and the No. 21 overall selection in the 2016 NBA Draft. Philadelphia would likely ask for DennisSchröder over Teague, which creates the inevitable dilemma.

Schröder and Okafor could be the future of Hawks basketball, but losing the former could be the price of doing business.

If Atlanta is willing to part ways with Schröder, however, it’d still have a postseason-caliber roster. Paul Millsap is a perennial All-Star, Teague is an above-average point guard, and Budenholzer is one of the best coaches in the NBA.

In landing Okafor, the Hawks would secure the organization’s first developable young star scorer since—wait, it’s been how long since Dominique Wilkins was drafted?
