Honorable Mention: Charlotte Hornets

The Charlotte Hornets drafted Frank Kaminsky in the Top 10 of the 2015 NBA Draft. Charlotte has intentions of playing Kaminsky at center, but shined a light on his unique versatility when it utilized the rookie at the 4 when Al Jefferson took the floor with him.

Charlotte can complete the construction of its ideal high-low balance by swapping Jefferson out for Jahlil Okafor.

Charlotte has accumulated a great deal of depth, but it still lacks a true No. 1 scoring option. Kemba Walker was magnificent in 2015-16, and he’s proven to be a killer in clutch situations, but he’s a second-tier overall scorer.

Okafor has the potential to provide the necessary interior balance to help elevate Walker and the Hornets to new heights.

Charlotte owns the No. 22 overall selection in the 2016 NBA Draft, which is a starting point for trade discussions. It can also offer swingman Jeremy Lamb, which begins to sweeten the pot.

Charlotte would need to add a third team in order to get a trade down, however, and that pushes it to an honorable mention.
