4. Draft Pick

The Lakers came up with the second over pick in the 2016 NBA Draft Lottery. Many see the draft as a two-man race between Duke’s Brandon Ingram and LSU’s Ben Simmons but there are reports the Lakers could use their pick to facilitate a trade – rumors have circulated from DeMar DeRozan to Paul George.

The Lakers may also look to Croatian Dragan Bender (per LakersNation), who has shown great potential despite limited playing time in Europe.

The talented 7’1″ big man makes up for the lack of rim protection and outside shooting of Julius Randle and may be able to develop into a better player than any of the free agent centers available this summer.

The Lakers can add considerable talent to the roster, whether a superstar via trade or through steady growth around a young core.
