4. Klay Thompson Third-Quarter Outburst Not Enough

During a back-and-forth battle in Game 2 at Oracle Arena, Stephen Curry went on a personal 15-0 run midway through the third quarter that essentially put the game out of reach.

After the Thunder put up 42 points in the second quarter of Game 4 to extend their advantage to 72-53 heading into intermission, Klay Thompson tried to get the Warriors back into the game in the third period.

During a six-minute stretch, he scored 19 points, helping the Warriors trim the deficit to single digits on multiple occasions. In the aforementioned Game 2, OKC did not have a response to Curry’s onslaught and the team eventually wilted under the pressure.

This time around, the Thunder withstood the Warriors’ run, and managed to take a 12-point lead into the final frame. Once that happened, there was no way the Thunder were going to be denied a second victory on their home floor.
