NBA: The Historical Impact Of The 2016 All-NBA Teams
The First Timers
There aren’t many better ways to boost one’s all-time resume than to receive an All-NBA selection. Thus, in the case of four players, 2015-16 marked a monumental occasion.
Kawhi Leonard, Draymond Green, Kyle Lowry, and Andre Drummond were all named to an All-NBA team for the first time in their respective careers.
Leonard was the big winner, parlaying his Defensive Player of the Year award into an All-NBA First Team nod. It was an excepted achievement, as he was both the defensive anchor and go-to scorer for the 67-15 San Antonio Spurs.
Leonard joined LeBron James as the forwards on the All-NBA First Team—a sign of how well he played in 2015-16.
Green, who recorded 13 triple-doubles for the 73-9 Golden State Warriors, made the All-NBA Second Team. Following him were Lowry, starting point guard for the Toronto Raptors, and Drummond, center for the Detroit Pistons, on the All-NBA Third Team.
All four of these players can add a historically significant achievement to their budding resumes.
