Honorable Mention: New Orleans Pelicans

The New Orleans Pelicans gave far too much money to Omer Asik.  Just a year later, New Orleans is in the market for a center who can provide what Asik was supposed to, and then some.

Joakim Noah wouldn’t be a bad player to begin that search with.

Noah and Asik are already familiar with one other given their experience as teammates with the Chicago Bulls. Thus, it stands to reason that, if anyone can help Asik return to the level he once played at, it’d be Noah.

If nothing else, that duo could provide the balance New Orleans needs opposite Anthony Davis.

Noah’s ability to pass from the high post would set much of what Alvin Gentry is attempting to do offensively into motion. He can find slashers who are cutting to the basket, shooters who are spacing the floor, and even work a high-low game with Davis.

Adding another player who’s capable of protecting the rim would likely alleviate the burden on Davis’ shoulders, as well.
