No matter whom you’re discussing it with, a conversation about the 2016 NBA Draft is going to come back around to one name: Ben Simmons. The masses are divided with equal parts skepticism and faith, but one thought remains constant.

If Simmons addresses his flaws and lands in the right situation, he could be transcendent.

Many players have the raw potential to be stars, but the nature of that pursuit is more often possible than realistic. In Simmons’ case, it isn’t stardom that’s being projected; it’s a potential place amongst the NBA’s elite.

Elite status is earned and not received, however, and that’s where the question marks surface.

As is the case with every prospect, Simmons has areas of concern. Both in the way he approaches the game and the skills he puts to use, he must improve upon two key flaws that could otherwise prevent him from living up to his full potential.

If he does, Simmons could be generational.
