5. Domantas Sabonis

The son of Lithuanian basketball legend Arvydas Sabonis, Domantas Sabonis is coming off a stellar sophomore season at Gonzaga. He was exceptional in the Zags’ run to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA Tournament and averaged 17.6 points and 11.8 rebounds per game on 61.1 percent shooting for the season.

Though he’s not a great athlete or defender, Baby Sabonis is a terrific rebounder, he’s a smart player and like his father, he’s an excellent passer. His 35.7 percent shooting from three-point range isn’t a bad place to start in turning him into a stretch-4 at the next level either.

With so many tricks up his sleeve and a unique combination of skill and strength to work with, Sabonis is an intriguing prospect. He’s only 20 years old and would also fill a position of need for a Suns team that doesn’t have a single power forward on the books for next season.

Phoenix may very well re-sign Mirza Teletovic in free agency, but in a draft deep on power forwards and centers, Sabonis is one of a few options that could contribute right away. McDonough should definitely have him on his radar at No. 13 depending on who falls where.
