In one of the more surprising announcements of the college basketball offseason, it was revealed that Malik Newman would pull out of the 2016 NBA Draft. Newman, generally listed as a second-round pick, was aiming to secure a more concrete grade than he received.

What truly took the general population by surprise, however, was the news that Newman will transfer from Mississippi State.

That adds an entirely new element to this discussion.

Newman spent his freshman season with the Mississippi State Bulldogs. He made a shocking recruiting decision to do so, turning down offers from powerhouses such as the Kentucky Wildcats, Kansas Jayhawks, and Ohio State Buckeyes.

Chances are, all three of those teams will come calling to see if they can persuade Newman to transfer to their campus for his sophomore season.

The implications on the collegiate scene would be massive. On the NBA Draft front, the 19-year-old could position himself to be a first-round selection in 2017 with the right choice of school or general destination.

The question is, which team would best help Newman’s future NBA Draft stock?
