Athletic shooting guards who can shoot tend to have success in the NBA. That’s a fair description of Isaia Cordinier, who overcomes his thin built by shooting with 3-point range, playing above the rim, and putting his 6’9″ wingspan to good use.

There aren’t many international prospects more athletic than Cordinier, and that’s a major reason why he’s one of the Top 10 in this draft class.

Athletic shooters will always have a place in the NBA, and Cordinier checks both of those boxes. He’s 6’5″ with a 6’8″ wingspan, which is ideal for a shooting guard, and while his 177-pound frame is quite thin, Cordinier doesn’t shy away from contact.

He must tighten his handles and improve his body control in traffic, but Cordinier seems to have a good feel for how to create penetration.

The most intriguing aspect of Cordinier’s game is that he’s been active defensively. He’s not an elite defensive prospect, but his athleticism and length permit 3-and-D potential, and his energy on that end is generally solid.

Cordinier may come off the board in the early second round, but he could sneak into the back end of Round 1.
