The Washington Huskies have an extensive history of producing guards who can create penetration. The likes of Nate Robinson, Brandon Roy, Terrence Ross, and Tony Wroten are all examples of such.
Much like Wroten, Dejounte Murray is cut from the cloth of oversized point guards who can’t shoot.
It’s easy to say that Murray can simply fix his jump shot, but most players who struggle to shoot in college tend to do so in the NBA. It’s easy to point to the stars, but they’re the exceptions to most rules, as it is.
Thus, while it’s entirely possible that Murray could become a better shooter and decision-maker, those are two significant assumptions.
What Murray has going for him is a 6’5″ build with a 6’9.5″ wingspan and fluid athleticism. He displays a good feel for the game, which is a plus, but Murray’s rising into the Top 20 on many draft boards and subsequently increasing expectations.
Murray has less bust potential as some others on this list, but he could be drafted into a situation with higher expectations than he’s ready to meet.
