If the Celtics want to improve their outside shooting and would like to address the need late in the first round, then they should look no further than Florida State shooting guard Malik Beasley.

Beasley’s stock has soared of late, with his likely “sweet spot” in the draft coming in the 18-24 range.

Athleticism on the wing, an ability to score off the bounce, and the silky smooth three point shooting of Malik Beasley are what make him such a great value at the No. 23 pick overall.

There is little doubt that Beasley is a developmental type prospect, but his raw athletic ability and high upside make him a potential steal in this range.

He is a guy who would have been a potential top 10 pick in the 2017 NBA Draft, but a strong year at Florida State propelled him into this year’s process.

Although the Celtics might be hesitant due to the struggles of young sharpshooter James Young, a raw talent himself out of Kentucky who has still yet to live up to his potential in Boston, it would not be out of the realm of possibility for Danny Ainge to pull the trigger on Beasley, as Ainge himself has never been afraid to take a risk.
