5. Henry Ellenson

McDonough will more than likely draft the best available player no matter what position that player plays, but we should note that Henry Ellenson would fill a more immediate need for a Suns team that doesn’t have a single power forward on the books for 2016-17.

As a seven-footer out of Marquette, Ellenson’s skills as a stretch-4 would potentially make him a good fit in a slash and kick offense featuring two point guards. He shot only 28.8 percent from three-point territory in his lone collegiate season, but his touch from long range would improve with time.

At only 19 years old, Ellenson is still growing and he’s already a mobile, skilled big who averaged 17.0 points, 9.7 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game for the Golden Eagles last season.

He’s not the greatest defender despite being a gifted post scorer on the other end, but playing alongside Tyson Chandler and Alex Len would hopefully help in that respect moving forward.

If the Suns front office wants a new stretch-big for their offense in this year’s draft, Ellenson has to be on their radar.
