Gordon Food Service

Gordon Food Service is a store that sells food products in bulk. It began as a store that sold to restaurants, particularly in-between shipments of product. GFS has stores open in eight states and ships to stores in an additional nine states.

GFS is a privately owned business that began in Grand Rapids, MI in 1897. They rank 26th in Forbes‘ Largest Private Company rankings. Their growth can be contributed to expanding to new customers by opening stores for the public, as opposed to just distributing their product to restaurants.

Gordon Food Service could gain national attention by advertising on the Pistons’ jerseys and would have an opportunity to expand. The Pistons would stay close to home if GFS were to become their advertiser in the 2017-18 season.
