General Motors

General Motors makes sense for a lot of reasons. First off, they announced in 2014 that they are going to invest $1.27 billion in Michigan plants. The automobile industry wouldn’t be where it is today without GM.

General Motors was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in downtown Detroit. GM breaks into four divisions, Buick, Chevrolet, Cadillac and GMC. GM ranks sixth in the Fortune 500 Rankings and tops that list out of companies from the state of Michigan.

Detroit is nicknamed the “Motor City” and even wears jerseys with that script. The blue collar mentality of the Pistons and city of Detroit is fitting for the automobile industry. Gores will likely bring in a Michigan-based company to advertise on their jerseys, and GM is the best in the state.
