Boston Celtics: 5 Potential Draft Options With No. 16 Pick
3. SF Taurean Prince, 6’8″ 220 lbs., Baylor
There is no question that the emergence of the two-way player is taking precedence across the NBA. If the Celtics want to add another two-way player to their roster in the mold of Jae Crowder, Danny Ainge and Co. should look no further than Taurean Prince of Baylor.
Prince emerged as one of the best defensive wings in the Big 12 last season, as he showed a consistent ability to switch off of his man on that end of the floor and guard multiple positions. In Brad Stevens’ defensive scheme with constant switching in man-to-man, Prince would be a perfect fit.
In addition to his strong defensive prowess, Prince has also displayed a competent offensive game. He shot a modest 36 percent from the perimeter, while also getting into the paint, finishing at the rim, and getting to the charity stripe, where he was a 78 percent free throw shooter in his senior season with the Bears.
Prince looks like a younger, smaller version of Jae Crowder. If Prince puts on some muscle in the weight room, he could emerge as the next up-and-coming wing presence in the NBA game.
