4. PF Deyonta Davis, 6’11” 237 lbs., Michigan State

Deyonta Davis remains as a very raw professional prospect, but oozes potential on the heels of his lone season at Michigan State. Davis averaged a mere 7.5 points and 5.5 rebounds per game as a freshman, but shot nearly 70 percent from the floor with glimpses of an excellent touch around the basket.

Davis’ footwork around the basket still needs work, but he has an effective step-back jumper in his arsenal that rounds off a midrange game that is well ahead of schedule for the 19-year-old.

In addition, rebounding is already a strength on both ends of the floor and his ability as a shot blocker is unquestioned, as he is coming off of a season in which he averaged 1.8 blocks per game for the Spartans.

Danny Ainge has longed for a rim protector with a midrange game since the Kevin Garnett era, and Deyonta Davis could be an interesting selection with that kind of upside in a couple of years down the road.
