1. PG/SG Jamal Murray, 6’5″ 200 lbs., Kentucky

At only 19 years of age, Jamal Murray is the top option for the Celtics with the No. 3 selection next month.

Murray translates as a combo guard at the next level, and put his full array of offensive skills on display in his lone season at Kentucky. He is an excellent ballhandler, can get to the rim with ease, and can shoot the lights out from downtown.

In addition to creating offense for himself, Murray’s court vision and elite passing would do wonders for a Celtics team that is at their best when sharing the basketball and staying connected offensively.

Defensively, Murray adapted quickly as an above-average on-ball defender as a freshman at Kentucky, with nothing but upside on that front moving forward.

With little to no weaknesses in his game, while also possessing a solid 6’5″ frame at age 19, Murray would provide yet another young cornerstone for the Celtics to build around for years to come.

With the potential for multiple All-Star selections in his future, Danny Ainge would be prudent in selecting Murray, who could prove to be the next great scoring guard in this storied franchise’s history.
